i have a 1997 toyota corolla CE with a 4AFE motor...im installing an aftermarket 2inch sunpro minitach and im wiring it up and i have to wire it to the dimmer control so that i can control the lights in the back of the odometer as well the tach and i was wondering what wire can i splice into...like a specific wire without taking the odometer out..if anyone has a corolla like that theres a dimmer light conrtrol that controls the brightness to the left side of the steering wheel right underneath the A/C vent,,,if i take that out theres three wires..could i splice into one of them??

yes you can . with a DMM  test for the wire that is at 12v when the lights are the brightest and the voltage will drop as you dim the lights.

bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english

set the DMM to read DC voltage take the black probe and find a chassis ground or go to the neg. batt. post. use the red probe and test the 3 wires. insert the probe in o the first wire, move the dimmer switch if the voltage changes like i said before you got the right wire. if not move on to the next wire.

bring back the rotary phone so i dont have to press 1 to proceed in english
