hey all!

I am working on a 1999 Lexus GS300 with the standard radio.

My goal is to swap in a 2001 GS300 radio with the 1999, because the 2001 has RDS. Also the LCD on my 99 radio is dead.

The 99 uses the 2 plug toyota type harness. The plugs are the same but the wires are switched around (probably because it uses a external amp). Not a problem since I have the 99 wiring diagram. My problem is that the 2001 radio uses the new 20 pin toyota plug.

I figured that I can splice 2 harnesses together to make an adapter, to go from the 2 plug harness to the 1 plug 20 pin harness.

My problem is that I cannot find a MALE 20 pin Lexus/Toyota harness. I also can't find the 2001 GS300 wiring diagram. The one we have here are exactly the same for the 99 and 01.

Can anyone give me some insight on where to find the harness?

Has anyone had any experience with this?

Is this the one? Check the metra site, partsexpress.com was rather limited.

That one is close, its the 20 pin plug that I need. I actually found it on ebay and bought it!

Now i'm looking for a wiring diagram for a 2001+ GS300. Anybody have one of those? I don't think the one founded on here is correct because its exactly the same as the 1999.

Hello,

I have a 2003 Lexus GS300.

I plan to install an aftermarket Eclipse double dine Nav unit.

I do not plan to cut ANY OEM wires. I wan to use an aftermarket harness.

Any in particular someone would recommend? Please help!!!
