Someone I know is looking for a good prefab sealed box for a single 12 (1.25ft^3). He doesn't have the means to make his own and would like to just order one.
I know that having a local shop make him one is a definite option, but he wanted to know if there are any good prefab boxes out there.
Thanks guys.

No.
The erason for this simple answer is this: You cannot build a universal box and expect it to be able to be correct for any woofer you drop into it. You must build a box TO the woofer.
Now, if you HAPPEN to find an enclosure of appropriate size for your particular woofer, chances are it'll be cheezily constructed, and if it ISN'T, then you'll be spending so much on it, that you might as well go build your own.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Pro box's are well made, but pricey and you'll have  to find one to match your specs. Audio enhancers also make a pretty decent box. They have speaker specific enclosures pricing is not to destructive also. These are the only 2 companies I deal with, many are overpriced garbage, so be careful on you choice.

If you can find a "Groundshaker" box with the right volume, they construct thier stuff is pretty well made.  I think they sell em at woofersect.com

Blowing up in a car accident doesnt worry me, as long as I'm putting out some major dB's when I die...
