2005 Honda Element, Hornet 564T alarm

I currently installed a Hornet 564T alarm in this vehicle and I am having problems with alarm itself. I have gone through 4 brains and several phone calls and I still cannot figure out the issue. After the initial install the alarm worked fine and after about a month and a half it stopped working completely. I replaced the brain and after several weeks it stopped working again. This has happened several times already and now I am going on the 5th brain. I talked to a tech a Honda and they stated that some of the Honda's will power surge so I ran a hot wire straight to the battery hoping that may be the problem but that has not helped. If anybody has a suggestion on what I can check next please chime in. J.J.

Have you checked the ground to the brain? It may be bad and trying to ground through the siren. Other than that, just double check all your connections. I highly doubt that it is a problem with the alarm if you have gone through 5 of them already.

Iam pretty sure an output wire of the alarm is not going through a relay causing the brain to mess up. Its trying to draw more than 200mA. Common ouput that require relay are factory alarm disarm, domelight, trunk. You installed it, so you should know what wire you hooked up. Make a list of wire you use from the 564T to the wire in the Honda so we can see (BTW, the fuse should have caught the voltage spike if there was any. But seeing that it didnt, that clearly wasnt your problem) Note: You Always Dont Get What You Pay For.

Swapping brains over and over is not the correct solution.........troubleshoot. If the system has entirely stopped working, as in NO response at all from either remote, here are your possibilities: --No constant power --No ground --Ignition input mistakenly wired to constant power --Bad antenna --Antenna cable bad, cut, pinched, or partially unplugged --Both remotes are bad (highly unlikely) All you should have to do is drop the brain down to where you can get to it (leave it plugged in), grab your circuit tester, touch it to the pins inside the plug, and see what's going on. If the electrical stuff checks out okay, completely remove the antenna cable and inspect it, or temporarily plug in a new antenna and cable, if you have them available.

Everything that you have listed is what has been checked, I am not just replacing the modules without troubleshooting, that would be a waste of my time....New antennas have been added, grounds have been checked.

I just ran all power directly to the battery source instead of splicing it in an existing wire...

I will post if anything else happens after this is done.
