Hello,

I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire and I installed a remote starter, the problem is with bypassing the clutch. It was suggested I just run a wire from the Yellow Ign. Start wire to the clutch purple wire, well that didn't work. Then it was suggested to install a relay....# 30 & 87 to clutch wires..# 86 to Yelow Ign. Start wire and # 85 to ground. Well that worked with the remote but now the car will start without pushing the clutch in when not using the remote. Any safer way to install this relay?.......

Thanks Ron.

Have PIN 85 go to a GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire instead of a straight ground. This will not activate the relay unless the GROUND OUT WHEN RUNNING wire is engaged during remote start only. Pin 30 should go to the wire that requires a(-) to engage the clutch but where is pin 87 going to ?? Let me know and see if we can make this a little safer.

Thanks , Pin 30 and 87 are going to the two wire's on the clutch and there are no (-) ground out from the remote starter for pin 85 this is why we had to go this route.....it works fine with the remote no chance of leaving it in gear as you have to put it in ready mode the exit the vehicle and then shut it off. It's just if you jump in and forget to push the clutch in it will try to start without the clutch.

Thanks again.
