I have never heard that running stereo to a DVC sub is bad. I, too have run this many times without issue.

...and actually, running @ 2 ohms would not be recommended. Running bridged, the amp is only rated @ 4 ohms.

I recommended that he buy a new amp and run it at 2ohm, not the one he allready has.  The only way he can wire his current setup is at 8ohms, which will be severely underpowering the subwoofer...

Wire it parallel to show the amp a 2ohm load...

NO, can't do that with the amp he has.  It is only stable into a 4-ohm or higher load when bridged.

You could just run the amp stereo.

If I am correct....You dont want to run a stereo signal to one sub....

There is absolutely nothing wrong with doing that.  However, operating in 4-ohm stereo is exactly the same amount of power to the sub as wiring for 8-ohm mono but bridged.

If you read the last post i made there...I was stating that i suggested he buy a NEW 2ohm stable amplifier and wire it that way...Im aware that he cannot wire his existing amp at 2ohms...But his existing amp does not have enough juice for that sub.....

As for running a stereo amp to one sub, i've always used monoblocks so i was just making an assumption.  I guess I was wrong...

Sorry bout that Cloak, must have skipped over the new amp thing. I don't care for Kenwood, that would be my recommendation anyway.

If the amp is rated at 2 X 100 watts at 4 ohms, then the output into a 8 ohm bridged load would be 200 watts.  That may work just fine in your application and is worth a try.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
