Ok boys. Got a Viper 791XV, 556U transponder unit, and it's all hooked up correct. We think.
Heres the catch. With the key in the ignition, or in the 556U the car will crank, and start for a fraction of a second then shut right off. You would think it's because its not reading the chip in the key. But, when we take the factory transponder off the key cylinder and try to start the car, it just turns the engine over and over. Normally when the key is in the cylinder and you remote start it, it would work. But it dosen't. Now if we take the key and turn it to the ON position, not started, and hit the remote start, it will start and run. BUT, the alarm thinks it has failed, and will try again, resulting in a grind. We called directed, and they said you have got to hook up the 2nd accessory. We thought, that can't be it, but they said do it and it will work. So we did it, didn't work. Now we're all out of ideas. ANYBODY HELP PLEASE!!!! If you can solve this one, you are the master of all masters.
Thanks in advance

You should have 2 ignitions, and an accessory hooked up (green, blue/red, blue/black). Did you verify they are getting powered when the remote start cranks? Did you learn tach (hopefully you hooked it up)? This is a simple car. Make sure the outputs are powering up and your tach is learned.

On the 03 Eclipse there is only 1 ignition.  However there are 2 accessarys.  I just installed a 2w900 in the same year car and I did not tag the 2nd accessary.   Double check that your start kill relay is hookup up properly, ensure the 556u's transponder ring is placed correctly. (To trouble shoot if its a transponder issue, totally remove the 556u from the equation then put a key in the ignition),  Did you hookup the factory arm/disarm? Are you using the Tach or Voltage sense?  If using the tach, make sure you properly went thru the programming.

ok, i went back to make sure the tach was learned. and when i try to learn the tach again, the LED does not light up. could this be because it has already been learned...? or could it be that the tach wire is not properly connected. too late to check tonight, but im gonna jump on it in the morning. i cant see why i would be going through learning it incorrectly. start the engine, hold valet, led comes and stays on. thanks for the input
