Hi guys

I have a Samsung SGH-X100 mobile. I have removed the vibrator unit from the phone and attached two wires to the connectors where the vibrator was connected. I have set the mobile to "vibrate only" and now get 3v dc comming out of the mobile when I ring it. That was the easy part. Now, I need to use this 3v dc to interupt a 12v dc feed to another device for a period of 10 seconds and then let the power connect again.

My problem is finding a way to step up the voltage from 3v to 12v to switch a relay through a timer so that the unit will shut down for 10 sec's and then startup again.
Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated.

I have a wireless internet system running in my home town. The access point on the tower fails every now and then, and then I have to drive approx 15km to the tower to unplug the access point and then plug it back in again. The access point then boots up and all works again for awile. I want to be able to phone the tower and have the 3v from the mobile disconect the power supply to the access point and then when I hangup then it will connect again. This will save me a fortune in petrol every month. Any help with this will be great.

Hey, that sounds like a clever and interesting idea!
Look into the TR-7 by PAC. It can, among other things, take a low-voltage trigger, and make a 12-volt output. And I think you can set its output for a specific amount of time, as well
I don't know if 3 volts is enough, though....you might have to contact the people at PAC and make sure.
DEI (Directed Electronics, www.directed.com) also makes something similar, but I don't know the part number.
