I have just reciently purchased a kicker solox and I have two tarantula amplifiers that im going to put to it for powering the beast. The only problem that I am having is figuring out a box in the back of my 1998 honda civic ex. Does anyone have any ideas of a ported fiberglass box that I can build with the limited space. I need atleast 5 cubic feet. Does anyone have any suggestions or pictures of something that would be most like it? Im having a problem figuring out either to use fiberglass or just a 1" mdf box. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time.

Fiberglass your spare tire area . Calculate the volume first (water, foam peanuts, whatever) and raise the floor with mdf above and/or around it to make up the remaining volume.

Dont remember what the Civic tire area looks like. If it is offset to the left or right, you can use the tire area and build up and into the respective rear quarter panel and mount the sub there vice using the spare tire area as a well for the sub mount.

Lots of things you can do. You can try and isolate the cab from the trunk using the enclosure face - speaker firing forward through the seats. You can port up through the rear deck. Hope these help for ideas.

the solox is pretty spendy , I paid 1200 for mine but thats because I get dealer discount also.

If you're going to be using Fiberglass for a SOLO-X enclosure, you'll be sure to make it SUPER-THICK. Our solo x enclosure at the store I install at is doubled up.. I mean when you figure that the RMS power of a solox is like 5000 watts, and it weighs 100 lbs, that thing is gonna create some HUGE air pressure.
