Does anyone know if cat 5 cable is capable of handling being triggers for relays?

thanks for your help.

Does anyone have any idea of where to purchase female slider connectors that are for 24 gauge wire? Or am I better off just stripping more wire and folding it over a few times to fit a 18 to 20 gauge wire?
