Replace Speaker s in 06 Ford Explorer - Last Post -- posted image.

I pulled the door panel from my 06 Ford Explorer thinking I would find a 6x8 speaker.  What I found was this.  So the question is, will my MB Quart PCS 213's sound a lot better than this?

I'm told that the audiophile stereo is 290 watts.  I've found 4 of these in each door, they are marked 25w then there is a sub.  Does anyone know what the distribution of power is on this setup?  Maybe 50x4+90???

Those will sound better than your stock speakers yes.... but I would try to go with 6.5s instead.... and for the output im not sure... it sounds like 50x4 and 90 for sub output is right if it is 290 watts

My point about 6x8 is that it's not a true 6x8.  The midrange is more like 4" with a tweater on the side.  Based on that I think I'll have good results with my MB Quart 5 1/4's.  My next challenge is to figure out where to put the MB Quart crossover's they are pretty big.

Am thinking of staying with the stock wire so I don't have to go through heck to bring new wire out the doors.  Anyone want to weigh in on that, or should I suffer the pain for a better result?

Um...I tried running new wires on my explorer...was nothing like the "how to wire through a door molex" stickey.
It's kinda hard...but I gave up after like 5 minutes
