I have a customer that wants to replace her factory HU in a 2004 chevy malibu (new body style) and she doesnt want to lose all the info that is displayed on the HU.  Supposedly she has info such as oil life, gas mileage, direction, temp, and other info.  I researched and have not found anything available.  Is there a interface available?  Also when doing a class two vehicle such a a LS impala where you can change many vehicle settings through the HU, do you lose the capability of doing this with a aftermarket HU?

Metra also makes a piece for the Malibu, the 99-3303. I'm not sure how much it costs but there is an option.

why feel guilty??       there's two ways to do everything, and one of them's properly...

if a new vehicle needs a specialty harness or interface module to do the job properly, then that's what it needs... same with a specialty integration dash kit....

never feel guilty on insisting you do a job properly and professionally....

I'm with you Kevin....I have turned down jobs for people that want stuff slammed together. As you said, there is a rite way, and a not so rite way....
