Hi, I'm kinda new to car security so please excuse me...I'm not sure i understand how the door unlock and lock work on a car. I have a 99 civic with a 790 xv installed on it and was looking at how it was hooked up hoping i can learn something. I found the negative lock and unlock green orange and white green under the dash near the steering wheel column. now it read 5volts both of them. Say I ground the lock with a probing tool should that lock the door? and vice versa with unlock. Just curios?
and is it a matter of just connecting the lock and unlock from the alarm module to the lock and unlock of the car and that should take care of the door interms of unlocking and locking the doors? the way it's hooked up is when the system is armed the doors lock and disarmed door is unlocked.
I understand how relays, diode, and resistors work if that helps in any explanation.
Thanks for your patience.

With that car you can just wire the alrm straight to the door locks lock to lock an unlock to unlock. but im not sure about the wires you have. Only thing I can say is use your meter on them an then hit the lock switch an see if the voltage drops. try that on both wires.

The wires should be attached to a GREEN OEM alarm plug just to the right of the steering column. As caraudio904 said, thest this when toggling the lock and unlock switch in the vehicle
