Has anyone hooked up an aftermarket alarm to the G6 factory remote starter?  If so, do both function properly?  How to trigger factory starter?

Thanks

Yes I did it.
There is a couple way to deal with this car.
Lets say that you dont bother with the fact that you could start the car only twice by remote (factory feature from GM) and that you could rely on the oem alarm there is a cool solution.
It is named a GM-XT-2000. This device will provide you a two way remote with a range of about 1KM or 0.6 mile.
You can install this unit in 20 minutes.
The remote will give you a confirmation For the remote starter part only.
The GM-XT-2000 can be ordered thru Autostart dealer as a special order.

I know about that unit, but the customer wants addition alarm protection, and it would be nice to activate the starter off an aux channel.  If I can find the factory box, we should be able to interface to it.

The factory starter is activated by the PCM. The PCM receives a start message from the BCM which receives a serial data message from the keyless entry module under the rear deck. Unless someone has invented a module to duplicte this data message from the keyless to the BCM, you can't activate the factory starter. It would be far easier to just install a remote starter/alarm system. It will have far better range and more features.
