Steely Dan anything from the past 10 years....including solo projects from Donald Fagen.

On the GRP label: The Rippingtons, Kim Pencil (his old label had "pencil sketches 1,2, and 3)

The Yellowjackets, David Benoit.

BIG nod toward the Steely Dan selections.
Jennifer Warnes - "The Hunter" and "Famous Blue Raincoat" (AMAZING female vocalist.)
Michael Jackson - History, Disc 2 (specifically)
Dave Grusin - The Orchestral Album, Track 4
Kiss the Girl - from The Little Mermaid Soundtrack
Trashin' the Camp - Tarzan Soundtrack
There are others, as well, but there's a start for you.
:::::EDIT:::::
:::MORE EXCELLENT CHOICES:::
Crash Test Dummies - God Shuffled His Feet (especially "The Psychic")
Peter Gabriel - Secert World Live, disc 1, track 5 (Not a fan of live recordings? You will be with this one.)
Supertramp - Crime of the Century
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
