Have any of you had problems with the Mitsubishi line having check engine problems and the vehicle dying ? I have done two Mitsubishi ( one Lancer & one Eclipse ) and both have had problems with the vehicle's check engine going on. The first one was the injector on a 2003 Eclipse and the new problem vehicle is a 2005 Lancer where the check engine light came on and now the vehicle won't stay idling.
Let me know what you think.

Hmm... Did you install a remote start in the Eclipse? Assuming that the remote start messed up the injector because thats where you grabbed the tach wire... My only suggestion would be to grab the tach wire behind the gauges. Its a white wire, on the right side plug (There's 3 plugs behind there). I can guide you on how to access it if you need help. BTW, I own an 01 Eclipse =)

i don't know that grabbing tach at the injector could cause a problem. I have done that 700 million times without a problem.
I did an 03 diamante that had a problematic ignition switch. It wouldn't idle with the key in, just the remote start. Check the switch for bad contacts.
Northstart.....or start it your damn self.

Just a thought, retighten (don't overtighten) the bolts at terminal junction to fix the open circuit problem then do a consult reset to clear the check engine light.

Here's the poop on the Lancer, it ended up being an accelorator sensor that went bad. Customer couldn't go anywhere and the vehicle wouldn't respond to the accelorator because of this. That's good. The Eclipse that I did, I grabbed at the injector and like tragik said have done this hundreds if not thousands of times. I tried to find the WHITE wire under the fuse box as per wire information, but this wire is not existent in the Eclipse that I did ( that or I was oblivious to it's true location ). When I get the Eclipse back I'll try to find the white wire at the instrument cluster and post back what I found. Thanks for the replies from all of you.
