I am installing a remote start on an 02 toyota tacoma with manual tranny.  I need help finding where to tap into the  E-brake.  Also, it seems that it may have had a rs installed before. there is a wire that was tapped into at the differential lock harness, can anyone tell me why? also which wire at the clutch plug should I tap into?

There will be two switches on the clutch. One for the start and one for the shifting of gears/cruise control. Find the one that has two wires that change polarity with the clutch depressed and the truck cranking. If there was a RS installe din the truck previously, then all the appropriate wires should have tape on them or if the person was lazy removing the old system, there should be actual wire ends on all the necessary wires. One thing to note on this is that DO NOT TRUST previously installed wiring because there may have been problems that you do not know about and if you do what was used before without first testing the wires, you could damage the truck or the RS.
