I'm trying to choose between Rockford Fosgate or  Alpine. They'll be going in a Jeep Liberty.

From my experiences, in the right enclosure, a Type R will walk over a P3

Pioneer DEH-5900UB

(1)US Amps MD3D

Blowing up in a car accident doesnt worry me, as long as I'm putting out some major dB's when I die...

??? How was that a broad answer? I don't know anything about SQ or SPL or anything like that so I'm not going to say thats what I'm looking for if I don't even know what it is.  If you're not going to contribute and help me without being rude about it, then don't even bother replying.

I don't think that last statement made by the azn invasion there is quite accurate. Might want to repost the question again with some more info. Why only these two particular drivers for example? Is the goal to get loud or to sound good? What amp is going to be used on the sub? What sort of space do you want to give up for the box? Are you building a box or going prefab? Too many variables and not enough answers. I can tell you don't buy the Alpine because it has a funny colored cone and that makes it sound bad. Rockford has had some real shat speakers yes, the P3 is not one of them. Neither is my personal choice of speakers, I would choose a speaker that I know has a predictable outcome for the task at hand.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

The amp is going to be a Kenwood KAC-X812D.  I'll be custom building the box and I plan on taking up all of the cargo room. The reason it was between those subs is because I can get a good deal on either one.  I'm going for loud but I'd prefer it sound somewhat decent at loud levels while trying to stay under the $250/sub category.
