Most Honda's have a blue wire with a black end on the drivers side firewall very easy to see and find

good luck

I snagged the tach wire from behind the tachometer in the gauges.  It was easy enough to unscrew and pull the gauges forward and hook right into that.  Just be careful not to mess with the wire for the airbag...I think it's yellow.  This is just another option that I'm suggesting, I never knew about the blue/black wire that Wolf-tech mentioned when I did this install, so that might be easier.  1997 Honda Civic Tach Wire -- posted image.

I have never found the tach on the firewall.  I just pull the cluster out ( 2 screws for the bezel and 4 screws for the cluster, it takes about 2 minutes).  I think it is a blue wire on the middle plug in the back of the cluster.

The blue wire  i mentioned is found under the hood sorry about not mentioning that earlier. It is at the firewall and above the shock tower area all alone just waiting for your connection ( At least our Canadian Hondas have this)

All the best

Dave
