I would do a one amp system rather than two for the subs. Much easier to set up and less wiring, less chance of noise. I consider the ED amps to be a pretty much entry level kind of setup as I do with many other amps in the same area. A huge step up in amps would be the MTX 81001, rated at 1500w rms into 1 ohm. The last amp that I brought in from them was measured at 1968w rms into 1 ohm, exactly what you are after (and they have a bigger amp as well).
