Ignition Model

I need to make a model for my senior project for school, i thought about getting a Distributor, coil, spark plugs and such and make a model of how the ignition system works and the fireing order of a V8. I was thinking of ether getting a cam drivin dis. and putting an electric motor on it, but like on my new truck i have a coil for each spark plug but i dont know how its firing order is made. so if anyone knows which would be easier, cheaper, or if its even practical
