Excellent work.

Love the rounded edges on the slot port. I wonder how many others pay that much attention to detail, including the details no one can see.

Kudos again.

Thank you very much, thats very reassuring.

Heres a couple of pics of that home theatre suede sign hung.

The suede on the sign matches the suede on the panel inserts. I'm pretty happy with it and the room is almost done.

I just started  a new topic asking for suggestions on something but hey, why not ask here too?

So, first set of suede wrapped door inserts.  I'm pretty happy with them but im wondering what suggestions you guys might have for getting out those folds next time around.

The port design on the box looks alot like a transmission line enclosure to me. How did you figure out the sizing to get it all to work. I've been working on a few T-L boxes lately and either I end up with limited range and mad output, or incredible range and no output. If you could let me know how your box performs as far as sq or spl we might be able to swap some ideas as far as your displays go. And again great work and keep it up.

Yeah I think it is a TL.  As I said before it was my first, i guess first four, attempts at ported boxes.  The dimensions were given to me directly from diamond, so there was no guess work whatsoever.  Thanks for the compliments though.

Check this out guys, I just got done recovering the headliner of that car I did the door inserts in.  Iam really proud of this, it came out very well I think.

Very nice dude, indeed very nice
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Thank you guys very much for the support, it means alot.

I tried doing the front doors on this car today, thats a bit of a different story.  Pain in the a**.  I just wish I had found out about the stretchy suede before I started so I could've used that on the doors.  Whats the general opinion on that stuff anyway?  I've talked to one guy on here that has had luck with it.

I guess I made myself sound more important and special than I meant to when I said they were given to me.  We have this big book at work from diamond that gives info on all their products, thats where I got it from.  It is also available on their website here, http://www.diamondaudio.com/products/pdfs/Single%2010%20in%20Vented%2005.pdf

Thank you very much for the compliment.  I typically spend all night thinking about my project for the next day.  It kinda wizes my girlfriend off but by the time I actually build something, I've already built it 100 times, 3 different ways in my head.  Its tedious and sometimes nerve-racking but the end result is something I can be proud of.

We use alot of Ultra Suede, it is very durable and good to work with. As for the wrapping issues on the door inserts, suede does not "stretch" or "give" like vinyl or trunk liner so you have to really work it without ripping the backing. Avoid alot of sharp corners or multi directinoal bends. Looks good.
