I'm thinking about getting a new amp.  I was looking at the Sony Xplod XM-475GSX.

What do you guys think of this amp, is it worth the money or should I select a different amp?

what will you be running off of this amp? I have personally never been a fan of Sony amps or speakers, so I would automatically suggest against thos one...

tell me what you want to run off of a new amp and a price range and I will give you some options....

do not go with sony, they are named xplode for a reason. If you love tearing your system apart and exchanging things all the time go for it but if not go with rockford, jbl, kenwood, jvc something that is good.

Hey Hacker.  Dont listen to all the Sony haters.  I see these posts all the time.  LIke Purds, I wouldnt buy Sony amp or speakers either but only because I know how to achieve my expectations from a given selection of products.  Xplod will work fine for simple aftermarket at a good price.

You can even make radio shack car audio sound good enough.  Just depends on what youre using it for - just for listening a little more powerful.  So, If you even think youre going to be crankin it big time, then go for more expensive stuff already to avoid wasting money on change outs like themagicone suggests.

You WILL have problems with any bargain component if you expect too much from it.
