Trunk Trigger on 2000 grand prix

So I have my remote starter installed. It worked fine for about to days and then all of a sudden it decided that the trunk is always open now. I checked the connection and tried to redo it and after about 15 min. it did the same thing again. I used did use the diode isolate method but its still not working. I just cut the connection for now since I dont really need it. Does anyone have any idea why its doing this?

You could test the trunk pin wire and see what that is reading...

Which "diode isolate method" are you using? I haven't tried hooking up trunk trigger on an Grand Prix, but I know of a similar issue on the Impala, which is a very similar car. Try cutting the Pontiac's trunk-trigger wire in half. Connect your diode to both ends of the Pontiac's wire, so that it is now functional again, but with the diode inline........ and then, connect your alarm's trunk-trigger input to the TRUNK side of that wire you cut. The BCM puts out weak ground pulses on occasion.......not enough to turn on the trunk lamp, but probably enough to cause your alarm to false..........by putting the diode inline, you'll prevent the alarm from "seeing" the BCM; it'll only be able to "see" the trunk pinswitch directly, and nothing else.
