Relay Simulator?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am trying to get some practice on wiring SPDT relays up in different applications. What I am looking for is some sort of working simalation software where you can wire up different configurations and produce different outputs using some sort of basic CAD software or something. I have seen them before, but now I am having trouble finding them on the web.

That is sort of what I am looking for. However I want to be able to physically make my own connections and see what it does or doesn't do.........That is an informative website though.

Okay you want a program but you also want to Physically make connections.

You can not do both, one is Real and the other is on the computer screen.

Have you seen the movie Tron? He went in the computer. Also did Lawnmower Man.

I don't think you can really do this though.

I used to teach at a mobile electronics school and this is what we did.

Use a small 12v battery or power supply and keep a 10a fuse on the + wire at all times in case of a blunder.

Buy a few relays..some wire..connectors...switches..and light bulbs. Build all kinds of circuits as per the diagrams and use a DMM to measure whats what and by observing the light bulb.

now before we would let anyone touch a car we would have a written test as well where we would have drawings of relays and other devices and have the students draw out the connections,,then we check it. Now you can do the same thing.

Example.....draw a relay "footprint" (has the 86, 85, 30, 87 and 87a all in the correct position. Then draw basic one relay circuits like positive boost..negative boost, starter kill..air horns..fog lights etc. Compare it to actual diagrams and see how you did. Then advance on to 2 relay diagrams like doorlocks etc.

During this time keep reading up on the explainations of how a relay works..it's main componets..and what each pin is for.  Relays are one of those things that seem magical or difficult at first but once you realize what it actually does..it is extremely simple...not much more then a coil of wire (magnet when energized) a spring and a few contacts (switch)
