I am trying to install a alarm system on a 2002 Dodge Ram. I would like to know what type of door lock system it has, and how to connect it so I can lock / unlock doors via remote control.

Single wire system.

  • Lock requires a negative trigger thru a 820 ohm resistor. MUST use relay
  • Unlock requires a negative trigger thru a 330 ohm resistor. MUST use relay

Thanks Jeff.
Do you happen to have a diagram on how to wire that up. I am not sure how the wires from the security system will be used to lock and unlock.

Go to the above link and use the diagram there to wire up the resistors on pin 30 of each lock/unlock relay. If the alarm system has alternating polarity lock/unlock wires, then set it up for (-) because the diagram is for a (-) activation.
