Does any one know of a factory hole in the fire wall on the 2000+ Nissan Maxima?

Yes.  It's behind the hood release switch.  If you remove the fenderwell covering in the driver's front tire, you'll see a 2-3" rubber hole plug with wires running through it.  From inside the cabin, it can be tricky to locate.  Lay down on the floor of the car and look up.  Just follow the hood release cable up to the firewall.  It should intersect with a bunch of electrical wires wrapped in electrical tape.  Follow those wires to the driver's side firewall in the front.  That's where the plug is.  It's pretty far up there.  Now, if you are in the fenderwell, you'll see the wires leaving the cabin and entering the fenderwell.  That's the same spot as what you just found inside the cabin.  From the fenderwell, you can get wires into the engine bay without drilling any holes.
