2001

Dodge
Dakota
Quad Cab

Hey folks, I am not a security alarm installer, I dabble in my car stereo installs but am a babe when it comes to security. Here is what I am starting to look at. I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, I’m looking to get a decent alarm. Maybe you guys can advise me on what to look for.

This is what I would like: 2-way paging, auto start, window roll up upon alarm activation and lastly window crack when needed.

I checked with one company and was quoted this:

Autopage alarm with remote for                 $499.99        (install included)
Door lock interface 456lw                            $69.99          (install included)
Window Modual 2 needed (4 windows)    $69.99 x 2   (100.00 for install of both)
Piezo interior Siren                                        $29.99          (install included)

                                              Grand total    $897.30

I am not sure if this is using the RS727LCD or the RS725LCD

I was thinking of going with this, but I’m not sure. Is there better out there for this amount of money? Thank you for the input.

My preference is DEI, not a big Autopage fan.
Look into the new SST systems from DEI (Viper/Python/etc). 1 mile range on the 2-way and should be in the same price range as what you are looking at there.

Viper 5900 is a great product, but I like the prestige 997, comes with 2 remotes (viper only one) shows on the lcd how many min. till car shuts off. adjust shock sensor from remote. A lot of only lcd features that are not avaiable on the viper. But Twelvotz is right 1 mile range is appealing. Never really tried it out but im sure its not literally one mile
