Be careful! the new Sirius units dont work off 12v anymore...they're like XM now and use 5.2v...so instead of cutting off the plug like the old units ....take the plug apart and grab the + and - before the pcb..one is marked for ground...smack a fuse in there and ya done. Or get yourself a cheap cigarette lighter extention and cut it in half, and hardwire it w/o hacking the plug.

I just made the mistake of assuming it was 12v when I was installing mine today.. Lol i cut off the plug and tossed it ... Then im sittin there scratchin my head wonderin why its not workin... duh.. had to mangle the plug and wire up some new leads.. all good now. good luck

Yeah, of the guys on the sales floor did that to one of the new sirius units a few weeks ago. When I was slow on installs I came out these and was like "how come the new sirius unit isnt working"....after futher investigation I found the hacked off plug that said output. 5.2v dc......I replaced the unit and found who did it .....he said ," I unno man, it didnt even turn on"....

Did it fry your unit??...cuz the one he did was FUBAR...oh well...I didnt have to pay for it...just junk it out and open up a new one....no harm, no foul.
