Replaced the brain unit in a 04 Chevy Silverado truck that was using a crimestopper rs-900 starter. Looks like the brain stopped working all of a sudden. This was not my install, but since I am the only local installer, the customer contacted me. I replaced it with a rs-1303 unit and all worked fine. I get a call awhile later and she says that in the message center of the truck that service tire monitor message appears and does not go out. She states the truck does not even have that option. She also states that this same thing happened before and the cluster had to be replaced by the dealer since they could not figure what was going on. Also when I asked who initially installed the remote start, she told me it was the GM dealer where she bought the truck. Any ideas on why this message keeps appearing ???

The factory radio is still there.. looked like all the ignition wires were powered... but I am not sure the other brown acc. was powered. I have seen some conflicting posts on the powereing of this wire for remote start.

It may be a pain but I would recomend removing the remote start and have her drive it for a few weeks and see if the message comes back. Either that or start all over with the install and make doble sure it is all 100% up to par.

Also chack and make sure the plug is in all the way on the gauge cluster.

If its using a databus type bypass, I would try to reprogram it or replace it and see if it fixes the problem. I had a trailblazer that had the battery changed and had to reprogram the module. Before I did it would do some wierd stuff like turning the radio on when you hit the unlock button.
