Alright ladies and gents. My good buddy thinks that his new amp, a Sony XM-2002GTR is better than my HiFonics Brutus 1500D. He thinks that his sony puts out more power and is a better amp over all. I tell him no way, but he insists, and calls my amp a pos. What do u all think?

No way in hell is the Sony equvalent to the Brutus. That being said, both of them are cheezy, compared to Eclipse, Zapco, Brax, and others.
Of the TWO, I'd take the HiFonics over the Sony any day... But NEITHER of them over my Eclipse DA7232.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

who cares? If the amp is serving it's purpose..and is not breaking down every other day..then that is the best amp.

Example..which car is better...a hyundai or a ferrari? well it depends right.the hyundai is probably more reliable...gets way better gas milage..the whole car costs less then a ferrari rim and tire, much lower insurance..and it can haul more groceries and passangers.

But the ferrari is much faster, handles much better and you have a better chance of picking up chicks with it.

So which is better? If you can afford the ferrari, I bet you would think it was better.

lol.thanks,.whats funnier is the original post states he is running a pyramid 4ch in his vehicle.

I wonder if he ever got the noise out. But yes...the old "whats better" thing..it always cracks me up.

especially when comparing crap vs. garbage...kidding aside..I have seen the cheesest stuff sound surprisingly good and stand the test of time. The average "consumer" is not an audiophile or competitor so I really don't see how any of it matters.
