Hi everyone,

having troubles with the hoodpin switch when the snow starts falling... it starts shorting and sees it as the hood is open...

where can i buy a PLASTIC one or something similar that will not short at all.

Thanks! (of course the onacts will be metal, but the rod connecting them needs to be plastic)

you could also purchase a mercury switch will accomplish the same thing, they are available at best buy for $15 - these are far superior to pinswitches and are worth the extra $

You can use the magnetic swtiches. These work like the contacts on the windows in a house alarm. They come with double sided tape if you dont want to screw into anything. Note I think the swtich one (wired) has an opening in it. I usually just but silicon or some kinda glue in the hole where the wires enter.

I like these because if you install them anywhere. They are pretty good and noticing when the hood is just barely being pry'd open. Put it on the battery side of the hood.
