hi guys, i'm trying to install a viper 550 esp in bmw z3 1996 but have a few questions...... do relays need to used to have the power door locks work??? it has factory door locks... it'll loc and unlock using key in drivers door...i've always thought cars w/ built in power doors didn't need relays just those with aftermarket actuators....any help would be great...thanks...not using the remote start portion of the 550 just the alarm...thanks..

Have you tried using the double pulse for lock/unlock?  I had the same issue with another brand where doors wouldn't always unlock.  Double pulse fixed the problem.

On the Viper 550 ESP you need to use the Learn Routine and work in the second menu.

Only need double pulse on the unlock (if single doesn't always work).

If you're having trouble with the lock, I'd try the 3.5 second pulse for the lock.  If that doesn't fix the lock issue, start checking grounds, wire connections, etc.
