have any of you made a ported box where the subs are facing the trunk but the port is cut through the arm rest hole.

so subs facing one way and the port coming out of the back.

will it work or sound horibble.

The only way to make this sound right is with a bandpass box ported through. If you use just a regular ported box you will not get the sound quality you are looking for...
