hey guys i'm currently working on my trunk. I finished making 2 amp racks which i fitted just behind the panels in the trunk. My problem is my everything in the back rattles like crazy and i fear soon something might fall off cause i just upgraded to a hifonics 1606d amp pushing my rockfords p2 10" 200 watts rms each wired at 2 ohms. I know the proper way to go is like dynamat but i'm planning to get another vehicle soon on which i plan to install my dream system so my present car (mitsubishi galant 1991) i just want some decent sound out of it. I was thinking of adding sponge along the pnaels would that help to lesson the vibration? Any other ideas on how to reduce this vibration problem on as little a budget as possible? Thanks.

That's the problem with changing cars. You want decent sound in the car you now have, so you have to do what you have to do. Mass absorptive damping, such as Dynamat or the equivalent, is needed. There are cheaper substitutes which you may be able to get hold of, though. I generally use no-name asphalt damping on my own vehicles to save cost, and some of the others use a heavy paste you get in a bucket for the job. Would fibergalssing the panels have the same effect as dynamat? Like fiberglassing the onto the metal itself

No. Mass is necessary, and mass is weight. But that's just a small part of it. Use a product whose specific use is for panel resonance damping.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
