So whats everyones take on jl vs. mtx and the comparison details that mtx has on their site comparing their 9500 series against the w7 ?

JL, no question in my mind. FAR better SQ than the MTX is even capable of thinking of delivering... Loud? I'd say they'd be close, if both in proper enclosures with proper power applied.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

one thing i fogot to add. i would say that the 9500 would probably end up being louder because of the slightly more power handling and more sensitive.

Yeah but the sensitivity ratings aren't always spot on from real world test results...but most are close.

I'd go for the JL...I'm sure it can handle more than 500 watts rms...if it is a clean signal. Hell Jeff is pushing way more power to his 10's than they are rated at

w7s are killa but id say go with the new re audio sx or xxx to get some real ssq and spl. those things are nuts they blow w7s away in comparison, but you have to feed them the right amount of power

9500 series in the proper enclosure will sound better than th W7 series but not by much. I'd go MTX.
