I have a Command Start 290 that takes 11 steps to program the channel 1 functions. Anybody have a manual, I do not care if it is direct for the 290 or not as the two manuals I have for the model show 12 programming steps.

Command Start is the same as the Scytek, go to Scytek.net and look in the manuals drop down. It may take a little digging to find your manual, but it should be there. I just installed a Command Start 2000 that someone brought to me this weekend, and it was the same unit as the Astra 1000RS listed on that site, no difference at all.

No it is not the same.. The 290 model that he is refering to is the Original Command Start that was made in Winnipeg Manitoba.. I used to sell these and purchased them from a distributor in Toronto call Links Electronics.. Now are you sure that it is a 290i? The manual I have for the 290 has 12 programming steps...I have also the manuals for the 250/260, 270 & the 275i...

The brain is labelled 290i and all the manuals I have show 12 steps but the car only accepts 11.
