Hello,
I recently bought a '97 Chevy Tahoe with a Viper remote starter already installed. Everything works, except the starter seems to try to keep starting the vehicle after it has already started for about a second or so. I'm not exactly sure what model starter it is, but I believe it's the 160XV (it doesn't have an alarm). The remote is FCC ID# EZSDEI474V. I'm not sure that's enough information, but if anyone has any links or instructions on how to reteach the starter it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Robert

Are you running tach mode, and did you teach the starter tach mode?

I just picked up the truck yesterday actually. I didn't get any sort of manual or anything with it, so I assume that it does not know tach mode. The previous owner just said that it had remote start and the only problem with the vehicle is that the remote start starts a bit too long, so I'd like to teach it tach mode if I could without needing additional equipment since I didn't get anything with it.

if the programming switch and LED are still plugged into the brain unit, start the vehicle, within 5 seconds press and hold the push switch... the LED will come on solid to denote tach is learned... turn off the vehicle.... and test it....
