Howdy all,

I installed a Mars-22 in my 1995 Chevy Lumina. I finished everything except installing the resistors for the VATS. I tested the system by having my key in the ignition, and then testing it for distance. It worked great for 5 or 6 starts and I was satisfied with the installation at that point. My shop is about 3 miles from home, so I tied everything up at that point and went home.

The next day I went to the shop to finish the job, I tried it again before I started to add the resistors and it doesnt work at all. Door locks, trunk unlock, nothing. The lights on the receiver do not flash when I turn the key on like the manual says. The tack light doesn't come on when its running. I checked the fuses and they are all good.

I have noticed that when I have the system all plugged in, that the doors lock when I turn the ignition key on. Is this normal for this unit?

I've double checked all my wiring and thought that maybe I had the door locks wired wrong, But its all wired with relays and I even used the schematic for the 3 wire positive pulse and it all looks right.

At this point, I'm beginning to think that I have a bad unit. If I unplug the receiver from the unit, the door locks will cycle locked and then unlock.

I'm open for suggestions, and also if anyone knows of a dealer for Omega in the north central Ohio area, I'd love to know. I bought the system in Texas when I was working there this last spring.

Check for a bad or loose ground wire, and yes the door locks do work that way.
