I am replacing my head unit in my 02 Maxima. I have searched the diagrams posted here for the stereo wiring but did not see the wire I am looking for.

There is a purple w/ red wire that goes from pin 22 of the stereo to pin 13 of the unified meter control. With the head unit out, I have no trip computer function. What is the purpose (switched 12volts, ground) of this wire?

BOSE.....you need to get a proper adapter for it. Look at peripherals SVEN4 (55.00) and the plug you need is the SVHNI2 (15.00) This allows you to integrate an aftermarket deck with the factory Bose stuff. Other wise you have alot of work to do!

You should have a 16 pin connector, connect the BROWN / white wire to ground and see if that works.
