I have two solobarics and a zx1500.1 pushing both, after new years night and today of bumping all day at full volume, I stopped at home and my alternator was on fire. What caused this and what solutions should I try, It was a 130 amp output alt, should I upgrade to around 200? I do have a optima yellow top in there now.

wow, first time I have heard of an alternator actually catching on fire, but yes this is a good time to upgrade.
A 200 amp alt woiuld be sufficent but go as big as you possibly can afford/get for your vehicle
the zx1500, can draw up to 150 amps of current which with the vehicle requirements, you would have been overloading your old alternator.

Wow!  Jeff is correct.  you should get a new high output alternator.  I have a 200 amp unit on my truck which i got from ohio generators and it works great.  Could you post a pic of the burnt up alternator?  I have never actually seen one that caught on fire!

This is also proof positive as to when you do the BIG3, you fuse the line from alternator to battery.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
