hey i work on semis at my work and they all have this feature that after you start them up you can hit a switch and it idles the motor up to 1000rpm, well i was wondering if this could be done to my truck, which is a 00 Silverado 2500, i would love to have somthing like this especally on those cold mornings, so i dont have to freeze my butt off waiting for it to warm up

Sounds to me like a choke of some type on those semis that basically enriches the fuel mixture to raise the idle during warmup...you won't find one of those for your vehicle in any fashion as it's all computerized using various sensors to control the idle speed...

Doesn't your truck warm up when the engine is running or am I missing something?

The good news is a basic remote start system will allow you to start AND warm the vehicle up with the single push of a button while you are nice and toasty in the house drinking your coffee. If you don't have the ability or time to install one yourself I know I charge about 250 dollars all day doing GM trucks..this includes the system, the passlock bypass if needed....and the installation with a lifetime warranty. Check around your local car stereo/security shops for the best installers for trouble free performance.

Good Luck.
