2005 dodge ram diesel remote start

"thepencil"  posted this-  On diesel models, the tach wire is at the ECM on the lower driver side of the engine, 60 pin plug, pin 24, or at the camshaft position sensor just left of the ECM, in a 3 pin plug.  Does anyone know the color of the wire? Also, is there a wire in the drivers compartment that I can tap into like on the 2003/2004 gas engines?

Ok, neither plug is orange, and neither plug has any wire on pin 34. Each plug has pins 1-10 marked and 51-60. Going by that I located pin 34. Now, I just read 2 different posts and one says to look for pin 24 and the other says pin 34???.... I just looked at pin 24 on both plugs. The forward plug has a blue wire in pin 24, the other plug in a different color. I can't really get a good look at the wire to see any other color but blue so it is going to be real hard to tap into. I also looked at the sensor to the left of the PCM. I believe this is the crankshaft sensor, not the camshaft sensor. Either way, there is a blue wire on this plug. Is that the correct wire? I'll be able to answer myself in a few minutes.

Blue wire = wrong wire.

You know what is really bugging me? I've installed remote start alarms on several Rams-'02, '03, '04, and this '05. The only difference is this one is a diesel. I have used the tach wire in the cab before but I can't remember which wire it is. Anyone know?

Maybe I'm just thinking of another truck and have it mixed up with this one.

Find the cam position sensor and there's a 3 wire connector there and I believe the wire color is BLUE/GRAY. You can't miss this connector and you can only access this from under the front of the vehicle.Jeff

Yeah, I know where the plug is, but the colors of the wires are heat faded. There are 3 wires going to this plug but there is not any room for error. Do you know which of the 3 I need? They are lined up going from the front of the truck towards the rear of the truck. I tried the one I thought looked DRK BLUE/GRAY which is the farthest from the front of the truck.

Ok, I've got a new question. Does anyone know what wire I can tap into for a wait to start wire on a 2005 Dodge Ram 1ton diesel? I've done a search and found nothing. I'm going to keep trying to word it differently to see if I can find anything.
