I am trying to install a Compustar CM3000A in a 2004 Dodge Ram (Cummings Diesel Engine) and think I have a DOA Brain unit!   With all wiring in place there is NO LED, NO Siren Chirps, No Horn, No Relay Clicking, No nothing. This is my 3rd alarm installation (1st Compustar), and even with previous mis-wires, I've had partial function of the unit.   Any Thoughts as to why there might be no response? And Yes, I've tested the two power fuses and checked the ground connection.   I've also tried the Remote Learning mode with no response.
Is there anyway to bench test the unit without hooking up all the functions?

Yes, Antenna is connected!   But even without the antenna connected, I should be getting some other response out of the brain (i.e., Blinking LED, siren chirps, or something!).

with just the power and ground hooked up you should get relay clicking if you hit arm and disarm on the remote if it doesn't do anything then you might have a bad unit or a bad antenna

You must go through the remote control learn routine ( 5 times OFF to ON within 3 seconds ) in order for the unit to respond. If you do not have the antenna hooked up during the learn routine, the unit will appear to be non functional.

Also, press the tach learn button on the CM3000A. You should hear the relay clicking after you press the button.
When you go through the remote control learning, make sure you put the battery in the remote IMMEDIATELY after the last on/off cycle. If you wait too long to put the battery in, the remote will not learn.

You were right about the Programming!   All appears to be operational now... I just had a bear of a time trying to wire this thing in the cold weather.
Now on to the next problem... Do you know how to program the Remote? I have a Diesel and need to program a delay start time.   Is there any information available on progamming for this remote (2WSSR)?

You need a programmer in order to set the delay timer for diesel start. You shouldn't have a problem going back to the dealer you bought this from and ask them to program this for you.

This unit I purchased on line from a electronics dealer, so I am not sure what their support will be for this. I am waiting for a reply from them as to this matter. It also appears as if Compustar is not very supportive unless your a dealer... Any further advise for installation on a diesel?
Should I connect the Tach wire?

Yes tach wire must be hooked up, some will tell you to use the alternator, I have installed on of these on an 06 ram and the alternator does not work as well as a good old fashion tach signal. Do some research and find your nearest compustar dealer and they should plug in their programmer for you and program diesel time.
