i bought a 94 yukon at a auction and it had a system in it. when i fixed the vehical i turned on the deck and it asked for security code and i don't know it.what do i do?

the security codes are set by the owner of the screen, i do not know of a way to get the code other than to ask the original owner who set the code, maybe try phoning kenwood for a universal bypass code but i doubt it, you may just hae to buy a new screen

Unless you know your system's security code, I suggest you get it reset.

Find a Kenwood authorized repair facility and they can reset it for you. Make sure you have something saying you bought the vehicle at auction though. If you can't fidn one let me know.
By the way do you have the remote for it?

there is a universal code but you have to go to an authorized kenwood dealer and have them do it for you because it takes a specific remote control to do it.  if you arein the dallas texas area we can do it for you

i am having the same problem with my kvt 815. is there any other procedures that i can do to unlock mine? i bought this a long while back and i set the lock code and forgot what it is and like a jackass i didnt write it down. I am in the vegas area and need help. It sucks changing batteries.
