Hi there ,

I'm in the process of changing the lights in my instrument panels to blue colour.

it looks great but the problem is that my air condition carries a type of bulb that is hard to find . i used some super brite leds instead. but these leds are expensive and i cant keep using them . i tried to paint the bulbs blue with heat resistant paint but it heats up to much . i tried paint ,water colours, nail polish but they all heat up....

anyone know what the coating on these coloured bulbs are or hat i can use to get them blue ..?

Higher quality bulbs actually have a dye in the glass so it can't burn away. I'm not sure how much you are paying for blue LEDs but I can get them to you for $2.50 US ea. plus shipping. That may still be too expensive for you. Hope this helps.

Actually i'm paying $2.50 each but i found that buying a scanner with 7 super brite blue leds is much cheaper( about $13.00). i usually just remove the leds and use them and keep the scanner circuit.

Is that there is a coating on the glass or is it that the glass is blue when made..?
