i do a lot of sat installs and sometimes need to troubleshoot antennas and tuners. is there a way to do either of these tasks?

i just keep an antenna for sirius and xm layin around, if i think its the antenna i just plug the new one in and throw it on the dash and go for a ride,

That's pretty much what we do here at our shop. Normally, just plugging in another antenna will tell you whether you have an antenna problem (maybe crushed or broken antenna wire) or a tuner problem.
