i'd just installed a Ungo remote starter on a 06 crew cab slvrd and I know that the second ign has to be connected but does it have to have power all the time or just when the alarm provides it I will apreciate any feedback

yeah the trani wasnt working right and the check engine light was turning on so I connected the 2nd ign to the white wire but I was wondering if it had to have power on all the time or just when the alarm provides it.

if the engine is gonna be running, then the white 2nd ignition wire needs to be powered up. so if it's remote started, then the 2nd ignition from the remote start needs to be connected to the white 2nd ignition in the vehicle.
hope you didn't damage the tranny

This is directly from my install sheets on those trucks...and I make it a point, that if the unit you are hooking up has a output for Ign 2 and the vehicle has a Ign2 wire, I connect it!! Its there for a reason.....

Note:  Ign.2 Wire; This wire MUST be energized when installing a remote start system otherwise a CHECK ENGINE light will turn on and the transmission will not shift properly and the transmission may be damaged.
