Remote start loosing train from tach

I have a pro-start 2300 and everything is connected and working (finally) but however sometimes when the vehicle sits a while the locks will not unlock - also when I try to remote start after sitting a while it starts and dies 3 times (final is a LONG crank time) If I go back through the training proceedure again everything does fine until the car sits a while. Could this be a bad connection with the accessory wire at the ignition. Any info would be appreciated (The tach is connected in the engine compartment - no longer at ECM)-Deric

Okay here's what happensIf I have my lights turned off when I Remote start - the car does not loose train. However if I have the lights on and RS the vehicle it will start but the next time it goes through the above mentioned proceedure. When this happens if the doors are unlocked they will lock from the remote but they will not unlock. I think this has to do with the parking light voltage the unit sends. When it is RS the parking lights flash on and off. Is there a way I can fix this - "is there anybody out there?"-Deric

what kind of car is it ??? some late model toyota"s have funky door locks where they go to sleep and once u turn the key on and off the work ,i cought them in the pass kick and they worked.......try getting your tach at a fuel injector wire it is a sure thing most of the time...if problem  goes on swap out the brain......i cant think how the parking lights have any effect on the rs......

Make sure that all your wires have been soldered. A loose connection to any of the accessories can cause intermitent problems.Jeff
