fiberglassing trunk lid

Im new here and need a lil help fiberglassing my trunk lid. \/

What steps should i take in fiberglassing it? Im not gonna add any speakers or monitors, just a clean smooth lid that will be painted. Thanks.

so here it is taped off, how do i put the fiberglass on?

not to take to many steps backwards but any type of fiberglassing is a chemical reaction which creates heat and without support will warp. it might not be practical for you, but the best thing to do is to mask off your actual trunk lid and replace the panel to it and then start saturating the panel with resin. if you don't your trim panel will warp when its drying and might not fit back onto your trunk lid. actually the best way would be to take the trunk lid right off the car, so then you would have to mask off your entire trunk area and you would be fiberglassing over head.  the way you have it taped off now is perfect for making a mold or replica of it, but if you just saturate the bare interior panel with resin it will save you a lot of work. make sure you saturate it until it is shiny with resin, then add a layer or two of fiberglass matting for strength if it is just going to be for looks. after that you will have sand it down with 80 grit sand paper and an orbital sander if you have one. then a few coats of body filler to smooth it off and sand it so its ready for primer. hope this helps. its a little long of a reply but just trying to help out. let me know if you have anymore questions.
